We are so thrilled to share one of our latest projects, a beautiful family home in Putney. The main features of this project are a retractable awning, beautiful composite decking and an ultra-functional outdoor kitchen.
THE BRIEF
Our client has a beautiful family home in Putney, South West London. They reached out to Open Habitat as they were looking to revamp their outside area from a failed and unused decking area, to a whole new zone that they could use to entertain family and friends and ultimately spend more time outdoors. One of their main priorities was for the new area to provide warmth in the colder weather as well as shade for the hotter months too.
OUTDOOR FIREPLACE
To combat those chilly evenings and enable the family to spend more of the year outside without being deterred by the temperature, we fitted an 18kw outdoor fireplace that gives off lots of heat but also looks super sleek. We love how it complements the overall theme of the area too!
This fire can use both natural gas or propane and for this particular client it was more economically efficient to use propane. The bottles are easy to connect and can be stored discretely out of site under the deck area.
AWNING FOR SHELTER
One of the standout features in this new outdoor area is undoubtedly the new retractable awning. The fabulous and practical design of this T-HIDE means that when it is not in use, it can be neatly tucked away, and then when it is needed it can extend at the touch of a button.
The LED lighting that we have fitted provides ambience as well as being functional and operates independently of the awning.
BESPOKE OUTDOOR KITCHEN
The outdoor kitchen is fully bespoke and with the clever use of the brickwork, it matches the house perfectly. We have fitted a pull-out spray mixer with an instant hot water heater under the sink for easy use throughout the year.
Our client also chose some high quality products from Napoleon such as the under counter fridge and the Napoleon Prestige Grill which is excellent for instant gas grilling as well as rotisserie. We also fitted a Sizzle Zone Sear Station which is absolutely brilliant for getting that high heat on when needed. The star of the show here is Kamado Joe Egg, which features a multitude of options when it comes to cooking styles.
